A strong start to 2012

It has been a busy January for us here at AB Lighting. We started with a spectacle providing our full production services to Argosy Players for their annual family pantomime Cinderella. On top of the usual Lighting and Sound design we also designed and constructed several additional elements for the show. 

Using our magic RC4 Wireless dimming system we had practical lights chasing on the entrance to "Club Crystal" where an 80's style disco took place and Cinderella and the prince first meet. Once in the disco we had two further elements firstly an 8ft Mirror ball cut out was decorated with random RGB LED's with a custom control system designed and built ourselves incorporated 27 channels of chasing colours that danced and moved to the music bringing the mirror ball to life. We also moved into automation as 2 standard 18" mirror balls over the audience were not enough for us. To add an extra element we raised and lowered these rotating balls over the audience at specific points in the routine. The winch system incorporated a DMX control system enabling us to coordinate the movement of the balls with the Mac 700's following them.

Following on from the success of Cinderella we have moved very quickly into our school production period providing equipment and support for many productions including - Guys and Dolls, We Will Rock You and Fame.

On top of all this we have also found time to move and expand into a new larger unit. We are still on the same site but with the additional space we now have a larger workshop for service and maintenance and additional office space. Please note our new address in the contact us section.

New Items in hire this month include - RGB LED Par 56 Cans, 18" Mirror Balls and Rotators and we have begun to phase in doughty twenty clamps across all our range of generic lanterns.
